Requesting an Application

The first step in the application process is to complete the online contact form linked below and submit a request for the Application Packet. In order to do this you will be linked to a Google form to complete and submit.

We will be communicating with you by email through most of the application process. When you complete the online contact form, the email address you provide is added to our database. We do not spam or sell email addresses. You will only receive official communications from the Battle Creek Electrical JATC regarding your application for apprenticeship.

Submit the Application

Once you have received the Application Packet by email, the next step is to complete the application and submit the required documentation. After you complete and return the application packet, you will be scheduled for an aptitude test sometime in the spring between February and April.

The aptitude test is half math and half reading comprehension. Those applicants scoring high enough on the aptitude test (5 or better on a scale of 1-9) will be interviewed by the Apprenticeship Committee for apprenticeship positions for the next class year. Interviews can start as soon as April and Apprentices usually go to work soon after.

Required classroom training starts in July and runs through June each year. One day every two weeks is devoted to classroom training. Classroom attendance is mandatory and unpaid.

Apprentices are required to pay a small amount each year toward their own training through a tuition payment. This currently runs from $650 for 1st year Apprentices to $1050 for 5th year Apprentices.

Complete the application request form below to begin the process. Remember to notify us if you change your contact information.

Make sure you use an email address that is yours and you check daily or have set up for push notifications.

We hope to hear from you soon!
